Job description

As the VP of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for enterprise wide Software Engineering including the database, security, software deployment, engineering, architecture, and quality assurance. You should have a strong technical background with expertise in infrastructure, network architecture, software development and developing highly scalable architecture. In this role, you will set the direction for the company's technology stack. You'll work closely with both: executives and customers, to enable the business from a technology perspective. Therefore, we expect you to have a proven track record of successful product delivery and have a reputation for driving change and delivering results.

Your responsibilities

  • Own overall design of the technical product
  • Manage the engineering team: guide them in terms of technical design and day to day issues
  • Make decisions about code design, architecture, and refactoring to balance technical debt and delivering functionality
  • Work with technical product owners to define roadmaps
  • Build tech leadership and groom future leaders

Management Experience

  • 5+ years professional application development experience
  • Experience in leading and managing engineering teams
  • Proven track record for delivery of highly technical products and solutions
  • Experience leading software teams utilizing agile software development best practices
  • Experience working with stakeholders (product owners & business)
  • Ability to perform periodic code reviews to ensure clean, concise code that is stable and extensible

Technical Requirements

  • 2+ year of experience in Node JS
  • 2+ years of experience in any NoSQL DB (preferably MongoDB)
  • Familiar with microservice architectures, concepts and best practices
  • Familiar with backend systems & design patterns
  • Familiar with RESTful APIs
  • Experience in performance tuning and scaling solutions
Experience in Android and/or iOS design patterns and best practices is also ideal for applicants.
